Edith taught the following rhyme to Joseph Andrew (DOB 1925):
By "Mc" and "O" you'll always know
True Irishmen they say,
But when they lack the "O" and "Mc",
No Irishmen are they.

The irony being that this meant his mother who was Irish, wasn't.
